Carolina Hurricanes vs Anaheim Ducks

Carolina Hurricanes vs. Anaheim Ducks
Now a word about last nights game. Carolina Hurricanes 2006 Stanley Cup Champions I'd say they have a very stable fan base. Anaheim Ducks 2007 Stanley Cup Champions. How was this game not Televised. The NHL sucks in this department. At my house I don't have Versus but I do have FSN and ESPN. In my dorms I don't have Versus or FSN but I do have ESPN. NHL please get back on ESPN. Hockey is a sport that needs to be seen not heard.

Gunshots Outside Your House: Your Reaction?

What would you do in this scenario? If you heard gunshots outside your house? There are three basic options.
  1. Stay Inside: It's really none of your business anyway, and if you do happen to see something you become a witness. This is no bueno
  2. Go Outside and Investigate: It's none of your business but you're the kind of person that likes to see what's going on and pretend to be interested in other peoples' general welfare.
  3. Stay Inside but Call 911: You realize that it's none of your business, but you generally care about the person(s) who may have been hurt.
If you've spent time living in Los Angeles or anywhere these kinds of events take place the answer should be easy for you. Wait What? You're trying to see what I put down as the correct answer? You sneaky Devil, You! The correct answer is number one. Chances are the police are nearby and will have heard it. Even more likely is that there are a bunch of people in your neighborhood who would pick number two or three. Be wary of these choices. If you go outside not only do you expose yourself to gunfire and possible gang violence, you become a witness. Being a witness is no bueno in these situations. You never really saw anything, and it's going to tie up a whole lot of your time in court. Number three is almost exactly the same as number two, except you're probably not quite as nosey as number two, but the consequences are the same. Pick number one. Stay safe. Stay anonymous.

Penguin Eats A Polar Bear

It's like the penguin is daring you to ask if he did it.

One very random event.

This afternoon I went to the beach. Normal enough. It was actually quite cloudy, windy and cold. Anyways this man pulled up in his car got out with a big bird cage. I thought he was planning on stealing a bird. Turn out there was a parakeet inside the cage. He opened up the cage and let the bird fly to the ground since it's wings were clipped. He then proceeded to chase the bird around on the sand and then off into the ocean where it just landed in the water.

When Things Work Out

A random night deserves a random post.

Casual Gamers VS Hardcore Gamers

Good Kyle would have you believe that there is almost no distinction between a Casual Gamer and a Hardcore Gamer. This statement however is completely and totally 100% untrue. Let's take a look at some games that are subject to hours of long debate.

1. Peggle: An interesting strategy game where the gamer shoots a ball at a certain amount of Pegs and attempts to knock out a certain amount of orange pegs to advance to the next level, gaining new allies and abilities as the player advances.
Good Kyle would have you believe that Peggle is a casual game. I agree with him on this sentiment however, it can also be a Hardcore Game. When one looks at the optional Player VS Computer feature and the countless Challenges only a true Hardcore Gamer would even dare to think about completing the whole game.

2.Warcraft III: A simple enough Real Time Strategy game where the player places themselves in the position of several different Heroes in an epic battle against a Plague rampaging across the Warcraft Universe.
Warcraft III, Good Kyle is under the impression that this game is strictly reserved for Casual Gamers. Easy to beat, fun to watch, definitely a good intro game, however not strictly Casual. With the different difficulty modes and optional objectives it would take a Hardcore Gamer to complete the game. And let's not forget that there is a new World of Warcraft Expansion that involves one of the main characters from this game!

3.World of Warcraft: A deeply involved Role Playing Game where the player puts themselves in the position of a member of The Horde or The Alliance, and chooses one of the many classes available and attempts to complete quests and ultimately reach level 60 (prior to the expansions)
Which brings us to World of Warcraft. World of Warcraft is an intimidating game for sure, generally reserved for involved Hardcore Gamers, the two factions and multiple classes the possibilities are endless, and only the most Hardcore Gamers would even consider attempting to reach levels 60-80 (depending on which expansions you have). This game essentially has no ending.

4. Call of Duty 4: An extremely well organized First Person Shooter in which the player puts themselves in the shoes of several different elite special ops teams in an attempt to thwart Russian Radicals and Islamic Extremists from ultimately destroying the world.
This is single best First Person Shooter I have ever played, however once you have beat the game on one of the many difficulty settings, what next? Online Play. Call of Duty has the best online play I have ever experienced. Extremely well organized, extremely diverse, the combinations of levels, team play, and game modes make the game endlessly fun. However only a Hardcore Gamer would ever be able to reach one of the multiple Prestige Modes unlockable at level 55.

5.Grand Theft Auto 4: A Genre destroying third person gamer where the player puts themselves in the position of an escaped convict while he completes various missions for varying mob bosses and random low life thieves
Last but not least Grand Theft Auto 4. The only difference between a Hardcore Gamer and a Casual Gamer as far as this game is concerned is whether or not the player uses cheats. Cheating in any game can help break the monotony, however a Hardcore Gamer will always cheat on a separate account, but the cheats in Grand Theft Auto take the gameplay to a whole new level! In what other game can you unlock a helicopter and wreak havoc on unsuspecting citizens? On the downside though, the cheats on this game are so much fun that you will find it hard to not use them. What normal person wouldn't be tempted by unlimited weapons, armor, and an infinite amount of cars and helicopters?

Hopefully now you can see some of the differences between Casual Gamers and Hardcore Gamers, and you are now able to see that not all games necessarily fall under one bracket.
Don't forget to keep checking up! The site is updated almost daily with new interesting things for you our viewers!

Good Kyle vs. Evil Kyle: Gaming

Well I would call myself a pretty casual gamer. I have played many games in my time but I don't spend a considerable amount of time playing them. Below is a list of the computer games I have at one point played for more than a couple of hours. Was I very good at any of these games? Well, No I would have fun getting slaughtered. So, you will see when it comes to games I'm not very good at them, but I do play them from time to time will my friends and such.
  • Red Alert II - I beat this game. I really like games similar to this one. However, this is the only one of it's kind that I ever bought.
  • Warcraft III - I flat out suck at this game. Enough said.
  • Battlefield II - I really love the game play of this game but not very good at all. I like to play with all the different kinds of characters and mix it up.
  • CounterStrike - I'm very decent at this game.
  • Peggle - See Below
  • Various Online Flash Games I have played way to many of these games because they are so fun to play and simple yet challenging.
Now Lets Talk about Peggle:

First Press play and begin to read about Peggle. It's is Beeker for the Muppets. Peggle is one of the most addictive games I have ever played. It's so colorful and It plays music that is exciting when you play the level. The levels near the beginning are simple but teach you ways of beating the latter levels. The latter can be frustrating but it always pays of of course when you beat the level. The hour long trial may not be enough and it may leave you wanted more. You can buy the game for twenty bucks from Popcap. Peggle can be found on Popcap Games.

Lightsabers

Thanks for coming back everyone. It's really nice to see that hit counter continue to rise. I guess you're wondering what this post is all about. Well I'm a big fan of Star Wars in case you hadn't gathered, and I decided to make some lightsabers for a project when I was in high school. I was inspired by a video called Ryan vs Dorkman. This first video was just an experiment to see whether or not I had the technological knowledge to create a lightsaber. Enjoy!

Another Lightsaber Fight: For this one our art accounts were being frozen so I had to persuade the Principal to reopen them. It worked.

The Force: This was my attempt at using the force effect, it turned out pretty well.

Promo: This was a promo for an episode of a monthly program a video club I was a part of put on. It was basically a compilation of everything I had experimented with.

If you enjoyed any of these and would like to know how to produce some of the effects in them you'll want to check up on our blog every few days because I'll be posting a tutorial! Just a little heads up you're going to need Adobe After Effects and some sort of video editing program.

Kyle vs. Kyle: Good Kyle's Music

Kyle bags on my music a lot. My music relaxes me and sometimes pumps me up. There only one problem with Kyle's music you can't get much talking going on when you listen to it. I will give him Dream Theater since after all I showed it to him. Quite a surprise he didn't have "As I Am" that is an excellent song. Here are the Bands that I listen to on a daily basis and know a considerable amount of their songs to be a fan of them.

Bayside - Long Island, New York
I have been listening to Bayside since Sophomore year of high school. For some reason I have always connected Bayside to the High School of Zack Morris. They are the strongest band overall on this list to me everything about them rocks. Good Vocals. Good Guitars. Good Beats. Sadly their drummer died just after the album before last was released. If your interested there is a song called "Winter" by Bayside about their drummer. I strongly recommend this song if I had to choose one but it's certain not my favorite because I have never heard it live. Favorite Song: Montauk

Brand New- New York
Brand New I have been listening to them since Junior year of High School. I love the lyrics of Lacey, the singer from Brand New. I own all of their albums and they each have a different sound to them some songs with angst, some with joy. I believe Brand New is just one of those bands a lot of people would enjoy with thought. Brand New is awesome when I'm trying to be creative*. Favorite song: The Boy Who Blocked His Own Shot.

Death Cab For Cutie - Washington
Death Cab For Cutie is only a recent pick up into my line since senior year of high school. I had heard their songs before but was to interested in the bands I was currently listening to. I usually willl listen to Death Cab before bed or on the car ride home. I have even got my mother to start listening to Death Cab. Favorite Song: Lack of Color

Silverstein - Ontario, Canada
Silverstein I found while looking for music from Bayside. I came across Victory Records their record label. Silverstein although a little intense(not my favorite song though) compared to most of my music but not all. Paul Koehler drumming is something of an inspiration to me. Favorite Song: My Heroine

Kyle Vs Kyle: Evil Kyle's Music

So I don't know what the "Good Kyle" is thinking, but this is a list of the bands I'm currently listening to and my favorite songs by the artist:

  • Killswitch Engage: My Curse, Holy Diver, Take This Oath, The End of Heartache, Daylight Dies
  • Atreyu: Becoming The Bull, Crimson, Bleeding Mascara, You Give Love A Bad Name, Falling Down
  • Bloodhound Gang: The Bad Touch, Uhn Tiss Uhn Tiss Uhn Tiss, Three Point One Four
  • Dethklok: Hatredy, Murmaider, Awaken
  • Dream Theater: Honor Thy Father, Scene Two: Strange Deja vu, Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence IV: The Test That Stumped Them All
  • Hollywood Undead: Undead, No. 5, Everywhere I Go, Sell Your Soul
  • Ozzy: Mr. Crowley, Crazy Train
  • Pearl Jam: Last Kiss, Better Man, Yellow Ledbetter
For the sake of keeping your interest I'm going to stop there. I've compiled a list of some of my favorite bands and songs by the artist. Seems decent enough to me! A decent combination of Metal, Progressive Rock, Blues Rock, Rap-Rock and a few other things I didn't list. "Good Kyle" can't stand it! Every time we go anywhere I have to drive because "Good Kyle" is a lazy bum and refuses to drive, but even though I drive I can't listen to my music because "Good Kyle" throws a hissy fit!
If you have some time go ahead and listen to the music and let me know what you think of it!

Fishy Stuff

My fish needed a new home so I had to try and experiment.
Tell me what you think about these:
Fish in a Water Bottle
I had to think fast and this is all I had.
Fish in a Water Glass
There is a chance for escape.

Fish in a Light Bulb
Probably not a "bright" idea.

Good Kyle Vs Evil Kyle #1

A Graphic Novel from humble beginnings

Click on the pictures if you would like to see them bigger.
Please Leave comments Below.

These are some excerpts from my on-going graphic novel I decided to make when I was trying to find a way to combine my love for hockey and the creative impulse* in my head. I had a lot of fun making the graphics and photoshopping them for the hours that I was stuck in the dorm. They are posted on Battle of California a hockey blog about the Sharks, Ducks and Kings. To the Left: A Foliage Problem (Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Anaheim Ducks) Here and To the Right and Below: Fowl Play (Detroit Red Wings vs. Anaheim Ducks) Part I and II are Here. It was quite funny to me when Earl Sleek thought I was from another country because of my lack of editing skills or laziness which ever you prefer. From now on I will regularly post them here please give me some feed back it would be much appreciated. I know they can be so much better if I know what to do.
